Off the Shelf (The Director's Note)

We're glad you're here! And we hope to see you at the library, too!

I like to think of the Smithville Public Library as your library, not mine, and I hope you think of it that way as well. There are always plenty of books to be found here, including one that will interest you.

But that's not all! There are many things to see and do at the library in addition to the books. Whether it's appreciation for art, computers, games, or even extra learning opportunities, we've got a lot going on. Stop in and see for yourself!

Though sometimes it gets "wild and crazy" around the stacks at 507 Main Street, this website offers a way for you to "stop in" and see what's going on in and around the Smithville Public Library even from a quiet, calm location.  Thanks to the folks at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) who provide "Ploud" so that we can set up this link to you.
